Firepit glass rocks are fast becoming a popular alternative to gas logs for vented gas fireplaces. They are like sparkling jewels covering the floor of your fireplace and light up in vivid, reflective colors. Firepit glass rocks can withstand high temperatures, will not melt or discolor and should not need to be replaced. They are non-toxic, clean burning and come in different colors. Remove your old gas logs and replace them with firepit glass rocks is something you should be able to do without a repair. Place a protective cloth on the floor to protect your carpets or floors from dirt and grime. Turn off the gas to your stove.
Remove the glass screen by loosening L clips that hold it in place. Remove the screws that secure the L clip with a screwdriver so you can turn the L clip in the open position. Lift out the firepit glass rocks carefully and place it on a soft towel. Remove the old set of gas logs by using a wrench. Scrub the inside of the fireplace with a steel brush to remove soot and dirt. Wipe the surface clean with a dry cloth. Sweep away the remaining grime with a whisk broom and dustpan.
